The defending three time 2A State champions Minnehaha  Academy have moved up to class AAA this season, loaded with arguably the most talented team in Minnesota high school state basketball history.  The Red Hawks are led by one of the nation’s elite senior point guards 6’5″ Jalen Suggs and the best junior 2021 forward prospect in the country, 7’0” Chet Holmgren. Minnehaha has  a cast of D1 caliber prospects in the class of 2022 and 2021 who are setting a new bar with a program full talent.

In making the leap to class 3A they are stepping into a space that has historically been dominated by DeLaSalle High School. Last season Minnehaha went into the Island and pulled out a hard fought victory over a very good team which featured Terry Lockett now staring at Standford, which makes things very interesting in this years class 3A division.  Minnehaha came into the season ranked at #1 in the Hoop Stars Media pre – season team rankings.  Minnehaha has two future pro’s on one team plus the top athlete in the class of 2022 in 6’6” – Prince Aligbe.   The odds of winning a 4th straight championship are great for Minnehaha.
